Problem Statement – Mac OS update to Big Sur OS. Firefox stops working for all websites (including access to PROMIS (Portal, PROMIS 4 & PROMIS Classic).
PROMIS clients will not be able to access PROMIS Portal and consequently PROMIS 4 / PROMIS Classic, if you upgrade your Mac OS to Big Sur OS. The Big Sur OS update introduces a Firefox browser issue that can only be addressed by updating to the latest version of Firefox, which is not compatible with PROMIS Classic.
Resolution Statement
Please do not upgrade your Mac OS to Big Sur OS at this point if you intend to connect to PROMIS Classic.At this time we are not aware of any future release to fix this issue by Apple. If you have upgraded to Big Sur OS, it is our suggestion to please roll back this upgrade, if you intend to connect to PROMIS Classic.
