The Canadian Organ Replacement Register (CORR) has created new codes for capturing COVID-19 as the cause of organ failure, graft failure and cause of death. Per CORR, these codes should only be used when COVID-19 has been confirmed by laboratory results and is clinically relevant. They are not to be used when COVID-19 is only suspected.
These new codes have been implemented in PROMIS, as follows:
| PROMIS Field | PROMIS Code | When to Use |
| Primary Diagnosis Navigation: PROMIS 4 Patient Chart > Patient Info menu > Program Registration | Infection (Coronavirus) 244 | For a new dialysis patient who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 as the primary cause of renal failure. For a transplant recipient of any organ who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 as the primary cause of organ failure, or for a re-transplant recipient of any organ who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 as the primary cause of graft failure |
| Graft Fail Reason Navigation: PROMIS Classic > Transplant > Transplant Procedure | Infection (Coronavirus) 244 | For a transplant recipient of any organ who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 as the primary cause of graft failure |
| Cause of Death Navigation: PROMIS Classic > Patients > De-activate Renal | Infection (Coronavirus) 244 | For a registered Infection (Coronavirus) 244 dialysis patient who has been assigned COVID-19 as the primary cause of death |
| Cause of Death Navigation: PROMIS Classic > Patients > De-activate Transplant | Infection (Coronavirus) 244 | For a transplant recipient of any organ who has been assigned COVID-19 as the primary cause of death |
